Why This Site Exists

Choosing a water treatment system is confusing. Marketing claims blur the line between water softeners (which remove hardness through ion exchange) and conditioners (which do not). NSF certifications are inconsistently disclosed. Pricing and stock availability change frequently.

Grain & GPM publishes comparison tables showing:

• Grain capacity or media gallons
• Peak flow rate (GPM)
• NSF/ANSI certification IDs
• Iron removal ratings (for well water)
• Current street price and stock status with a crawl timestamp

The goal is to provide factual comparisons based on manufacturer specifications and NSF certifications, not vague marketing claims.
